St Mary’s Harbour is a Private Harbour run by the Duchy of Cornwall.
As the traffic hub of the Isles of Scilly they cater for around 98% of all the freight brought to the Islands.
Harbour users also include fishing vessels, local boat owners, inter island passenger launches and of course the ships used for the Island’s mainland connections. They also average around 2,500 yacht nights and are the biggest cruise ship calling port in the South West.
After a careful consultation and scoping process Dale Clark (Harbour Master) made the decision to choose Harbour Assist. The software will provide his dynamic team a system which will help improve operations / communications within the harbour and its users together with the ability for visiting yachts to pay by credit /card out on the water and even online.
I’m delighted that we have taken the step to introduce Harbour Assist to our port operations. Whilst we are a small harbour we are fairly unique in that we cater for all types of maritime business making us one of the busiest harbours in the South West. Harbour Assist will allow us to become much more efficient in how we operate and allow us to communicate better with our customers.
