Vuda Marina

A unique commercial marina complex, Vuda Marina is a family owned and operated Marina located at Vuda Point on the western end of Viti Levu in Fiji.

Operating as a hub for yachtsmen and yachtswomen traveling to the South Pacific during the southern hemisphere winter, Vuda Marina was conceptualised by 5 friends in the 1990’s who all decided that a full-service commercial marina was needed in the West of Fiji.

In May 1996, Vuda Marina welcomed its first boats, originally opening with 78 in water berths and 30 hardstand spaces, serviced by a single 20 Tonne Tami-Lift. Over the years the marina has continued to grow, adding accommodation, shops, restaurant, bar and upon completion will have 180 in water berths and over 150 hardstand spaces. It is now serviced by a 63 Tonne Wise Travel Hoist and a 40 Tonne Roodberg Multihull Trailer. The marina has facilities specifically designed to incorporate cyclone pits to withstand the effects of the most extremes of weather conditions.

Adam Wade, General Manager & Chief Executive Officer, told us– “We started looking for a Marina Management System because the marina was getting too big, and manually tracking of yacht movements was getting too difficult.

We trialled several MMS options but never really found one that handled the complexities of marina operations very well. Harbour Assist understands the needs of marinas and works well for us. Other systems are either too complicated, too expensive or were designed for another industry and so the developers thought that they could simply use it in the marina world, but the reality is that there are very specific idiosyncrasies in the marina world that need specialist attention, and Harbour Assist seems to have mastered this.”

“The onboarding process was intense with a lot of information to be taken in, however, the Harbour Assist Team helped us get a grasp of the system well and the self-help videos are very useful. Harbour Assist is a great addition to our admin team and is utilised on a daily basis.” Adam added.

Vuda Marina is now the longest running full-service marina in the West of Fiji.
