Olympic host sails to gold with Harbour Assist
Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy
The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) is a premier sailing facility located on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, along England’s south coast.
Established as a not-for-profit organisation in 1999, it officially opened its doors on 1st April 2000. While the Academy primarily focuses on hosting sailing events, it also generates revenue through various channels such as memberships, training facilities, sporting events, meeting or function rooms, and boatyard services, including boat hoist and dry storage, all of which requires management and administration to ensure its smooth running.
The Academy boasts top-notch facilities, including a 220-meter slipway accessible in all weather conditions, 600 dinghy spaces, and 125 protected marina berths for ribs and yachts.
Since its inception in 2000, WPNSA has hosted numerous local, national, and international sailing events and in 2005, it was selected to host the sailing events for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Sally Reynoldson, Senior Operations and Sailing Manager, remarked, “We needed to consolidate our administrative processes. After reviewing CRM systems for a few years, Harbour Assist came highly recommended by an existing customer and following a demonstration of the system, we felt Harbour Assist was the best fit for us.”
Sally added, “Although staff often find change challenging, the Harbour Assist team has been incredibly helpful throughout the training and implementation process.”
