New site for Castle Marinas
Brinklow Marina becomes site number 11
Castle Marinas have been busy over the winter, acquiring their eleventh site and the fourth to join the group in the last four years.
200-berth Brinklow Marina is an inland facility situated between Coventry and Rugby in the English Midlands.
Brinklow was built on a greenfield site in 2005, and sits in 22 acres of landscaped grounds with 360-degree views across open countryside. It’s not surprising that Brinklow is dubbed ‘a breath of fresh air’.
The UK’s largest private marina group
With the acquisition of Brinklow Marina, Castle Marinas becomes the UK’s largest privately-owned marina group. Castle now has 11 sites and over 2,500 berths. Nine sites are inland, with two on the south coast.
Castle Operations Director, Mike Braidley said: “We are so excited to have an opportunity to develop the huge potential of this site and to bring the marina up to our exacting ‘Castle’ standards. It’s very much a blank canvas at the moment, but when we’ve waved the Castle magic wand over it we’ll be able to offer a fantastic base for our customers to safely explore our wonderful canal heritage“.
A Harbour Assist Customer
Castle Marinas came onboard with Harbour Assist in 2018, when they had seven sites. A further two were added in 2019, one in 2020 and one (so far!) in 2021.
“Marina managers don’t have the time to be tech-savvy, so the system must be intuitive,” said Mike Braidley, “Harbour Assist was far more up-to-date, for example, being cloud-based. It made the alternatives seem quite clunky”
Harbour Assist has worked hard to make the acquisition processes as seamless as possible for the management team and marina users. New sites can be onboarded with zero downtime for users at other sites, with the new staff quickly brought up-to-speed by Castle’s in-house power-user.
