Burton Waters

Based on the outskirts of Lincoln, Burton Waters Marina sits alongside one of England’s oldest canals, The Fossdyke, thought to have been built the Romans around AD 120.  The Fossdyke connects the River Trent and the River Witham, which leads down to Boston and The Wash.

Established in 1988, the family business began life as Lincoln Marina originally based alongside Brayford Pool. The successful business outgrew its facilities and moved to a new, purpose-built marina development at Burton Waters.

Looking to improve their current processes, Nicola Webster, Financial Controller says Harbour Assist didn’t approach me, I approached Harbour Assist. I saw their system in action at another Marina and I was so impressed I just had to have it at Burton Waters”.

Facilities at Burton Waters include a sales suite alongside the Marina with a large workshop facility, including boat repairs, joinery, electronics and engineering services. Workshop staff are fully trained specialists, offering a range of services encompassing engine servicing and repairs.  Burton Waters Marina also offers day-hire boats, so that everyone can now enjoy getting on the water.

“Harbour Assist has made my life so much easier, because it brings everything together into one system instead of working from six different spreadsheets. Using the payments system, new bookings can now pay in advance, which makes the arrivals process so much smoother”, says Moorings Co-ordinator, Caroline Cunniffe.

Nicola adds, The customer service and training has been excellent, we didn’t feel rushed, everything was done at our pace and planned around us and not the other way around. Rachel is an absolute credit to the Harbour Assist Team.”
