South Dock Marina

South Dock Marina is located on the south side of the river Thames and is the only central London marina with an integral boatyard. The marina is spread across two converted commercial docks, South Dock and Greenland Dock.

Greenland Dock dates back to 1695 when it was constructed as a repair base for the East India Company ships and was extensively enlarged at the start of the 20th century to the size it is today.

South Dock was built later, between 1807 – 1811, and was originally known as East County Dock until its name was changed to South Dock in 1865.

Now owned and operated by Southwark Council, the marina  provides a modern marina facility within a tranquil setting of redeveloped docks and residential area for both residential and leisure vessels.

With a desire to improve the back office paper based records and improve the customers experience, the search was on for a new management system.

‘Harbour Assist allows us to keep all customer records in one place and track communications with customers, along with enabling our customers to manage their payments easily and book services online’ says Phil Cotman, Harbour Master at South Dock Marina.

Phil continues ‘The on-boarding process was smooth and on time and the Harbour Assist team have taken the time to understand our needs.  We had a days on-site training with Rachel which was really informative and the support in the first few weeks to ensure a successful system launch with our customers has been first class’.
